Beliefs, Behaviours, Goals and living out our values
Beliefs
‘Beliefs - an acceptance that something exists or is true’
- We believe it is part of our responsibility to open up horizons of hope and high aspirations to educate children into fulfilling them
- We believe we can foster confidence, delight and discipline through the pursuit of wisdom and the desire to be the best version of ourselves
- We believe a good life is ‘with and for others in just institutions’ and that in order to flourish we must engage, endeavour and give of ourselves unselfishly to live well
- We believe that human dignity, the ultimate worth of each person, is central to a good education and a good life
- We believe that love is the golden thread that unites us and enriches us regardless of faith

Living out our values
At St Mark's, our values aren’t just words on a wall. We believe they should shape how we act and behave, every single day. It's really important to us that every child, whether they come from a Christian background, another faith, or no faith, feels empowered to live out these values and make a positive impact.
We teach our children to see how these values can be lived out in practical ways.
Sarah Hoxey (SIAMS Lead) spoke to That's TV about how our children are inspired to live out their values. In this clip, Sarah discusses the importance of our value, Love, and how it inspires children at St Mark's to act compassionately, starting with small acts of kindness all the way up to beginning large scale awareness and fundraising projects.
