Great trial and improvement, resourcefulness (spot the pencil and calculator in the background) to program the Lego robot to follow the line.
Year 6 children have been learning about the musical elements and used these to enhance their train compositions. They especially thought about tempo, dynamics and texture as well as choosing appropriate timbres to represent the train on its journey.
In Science Year 5 ( Oak photos) were carrying out experiments related to forces. We were also discussing scientific terms related to forces and recording our ideas.
Year 5 composed music in 3 time today. This is not easy as we naturally play and sing more often in 4 time. Each group had someone playing the beat, a drone and another person composing an ostinato pattern using the pentatonic scale. Some groups managed to put in some dynamics as well as stay in time, to make it more interesting. Have a look at some of the group videos below.
This afternoon, some of Swallows Class joined some of Beech Class to make and test paper rafts. There was wonderful teamwork on all sides 😀
