This term in PE, we have been learning the basic gymnastic balances. We looked at the star, straight, tuck, straddle, front and back support, shoulder stand and pike. In pairs, we chose to combine some balances with different methods of travelling to create our own sequence.
This term in Year 4, we have been looking at six key areas of Gymnastics. We have used the large apparatus to explore agility, balance, co-ordination, flexibility and strength.
This term we have been creating group sequences, developing our previous knowledge of gymnastics to perform as Olympic gymnasts! Below are our Olympic winners and their performances.
In Year 6 we have been exploring our ability to develop and improve within 6 key areas of gymnastics: Agility, Balance, Co-ordination, Flexibility and Strength. We have used previous knowledge and learning to progress ourselves in each area. Below we demonstrate how we have used previous gymnastics balances whilst moving across the gym horse.
