St. Mark’s C.E. Junior School was founded in 1888. Since that time it has been granted Controlled Status under the 1944 Education Act, which means that it remains a Church of England Foundation.

In September 2012 St Mark’s Pre-School relocated from its long term home in St Mark’s Church on St Mark’s Avenue. This large and popular provision has been an excellent addition to the campus – making this part of Salisbury an attractive proposition for families with children under 11 moving into the area.

In January 2015 the school academised and joined Salisbury’s first multi-academy trust known as Somerset Road Education Trust (SRET). SRET also has Wyndham Park Infants’ School and Exeter House Special School which are all co-located on the same campus. For more information please visit www.somersetroadeducationtrust.co.uk

The churches of St. Mark, St. Francis and St. Thomas, into whose parishes our catchment area extends, retain a strong interest in the school by appointing governors and demonstrating a continuing educational, and pastoral concern with the life of the school.

The Governors, Headteacher and Staff welcome new families into our caring community. Our aim is to work in partnership with you for the greatest good of your child in all aspects of their development. We are committed to offering all pupils a first class education which enables everyone to develop to their full potential.

Today there are approximately 360 boys and girls aged from 7-11 years divided into twelve single age classes. There are four year groups with three parallel classes per year group.
