Polite reminders

° School Dinners – if a child orders a meal, even in error, this must still be paid for. Please make sure your child knows if they have a packed lunched or need to order a school lunch
° Adventure playground – Please ensure that younger siblings are not on our adventure playground before or after school. This is to keep them safe.
° Children must be ready for PE sessions i.e. hair tied back, earrings removed (by parents first thing or the children themselves) and an appropriate outdoors kit (preferably sweatshirt/hoodie and tracksuits trousers/leggings)

My Maths
We are trialing an online maths homework resource. Teachers will send out details of how to access and use the site. https://www.mymaths.co.uk/

Picking of sports teams/club participation
Throughout the year we participate in many tournaments, friendlies and competitive events in a variety of sporting activities. Several parents have asked about how teams are selected. Please follow the link for our rationale:

We offer a wide range of sports clubs – some paid for and some free. Sometimes we are over-subscribed and have to make decisions which naturally disappoint some children. Last year three-quarters of the school population (270+) were involved in our sports club. This year we want to build upon that,

Parents and Carers Support Group
Exeter House, St Mark’s C of E Junior and Wyndham Park Infants’ Schools are running coffee mornings where parents and carers can come along to chat with each other, to share information, for support and to get help and advice with SEN issues. They will be held in The Hub @ St Mark’s CE Junior School, Somerset Road, Salisbury SP1 3BL
9:00 am – 10:30 am – refreshments available
Dates are – 28th September, 19th October, 23rd November, 21st December, 25th January, 15th February, 22nd March, 26th April, 24th May, 28th June & 19th July.

Secondary School applications
Y6 parents – Please make sure you apply for a secondary school place by 31-10-18 without fail.

Y5 Open Days, taster days
Many parents of Y5 children will be beginning to think about secondary school places for September 2020 as applications have to be in by 31-10-19. The secondary schools compete for pupils in a competitive market. Consequently there many opportunities for open evenings, taster sessions, open days. Most of the ten schools we feed to send fliers or marketing material. Examples are kept outside the office (east corridor) for children or parents to collect if they wish. Alternatively please visit individual school websites for more information.
