From the Governors, following the Ofsted inspection

The Governors care deeply about the children at St Mark’s, and all aspects of their education. We are confident that, with a new focus, and continued hard work and dedication from our amazing staff and children, we can improve outcomes and consistency across the school.

Many of the strategic changes, put in place in the first months of this academic year, have been recognised by OfSTED as being the right ones to improve results. We have fabulous children at St Mark’s, and we are seeking external and expert advice so that we can support them to the best of our abilities into the future.

As OfSTED state, Governors are keen to get it right and we are working hard so that, over the next months, we can be central to the strategic directions necessary to improve results.

Actions already in place:

  • All governors are reviewing their areas of responsibility and writing SMART actions
  • Governors have arranged an extra meeting for Monday 11 December to agree a cohesive action plan and to initiate the review process
  • Governors were represented at all parent information sessions, and are compiling an FAQ for the school, to share with those who could not attend

There is a list of governors and some more information about governance on the school website here.

We are going to be blogging about our activities, to improve open and clear communication about what we actually do and the progress we are making. If you are not already following the school blogs, please do click `follow’ on the school website. (You should see a ‘follow’ button in the bottom right hand corner.)
