Safer Internet Week – update

We are half the way through the week and have had some great discussions with Year 3 and 4 children about Internet safety.

Many children in these year groups are using games, websites and apps that involve playing with other (unknown) Internet users and a lot of children say they have had nasty messages and people asking questions.  Their response to this has been mostly sensible – blocking users or pressing a “report” button – fewer said that they told their mum or dad….

Are you aware of the range of games, websites and apps that your children are using and the potential to share images or for contact with other Internet users?

The following websites contain some really useful information about different apps, age guidelines, what to look out for as well as other ideas like how to set up children’s phones and devices to protect them.
